Cheryl S. Sweet was raised in King and Queen County, VA, and at the age
of 17 moved to Richmond County, VA. After graduating from York Academy in Shackelfords, VA,
she attended the University of Virginia, graduating with a BA in music. Mrs. Sweet resided with her husband
and daughter and worked in the Charlottesville/Albemarle County area. She then moved back to Richmond County.
On her return she began her career in the legal profession as a legal assistant specializing in debt collection.
Utilizing her experience in music, she became the organist of the Warsaw United Methodist Church. In August of 1992,
Mrs. Sweet assumed the position in Hutt & Robertson law office as John Hutt’s legal assistant. There, she
continued to assist in debt collection and began her extensive education of real estate and delinquent tax suits under
the tutelage of Mr. Hutt. In addition to her full-time position with Mr. Hutt, Mrs. Sweet became the music director
at Coles Point and Carmel United Methodist Churches, as well as teaching piano lessons in the evenings and working for
Latane Trice, Auctioneer, on weekends. When Mr. Hutt opened his private practice in Warsaw in December of 1993,
Mrs. Sweet went with him. In December, 1997, John Hutt moved his office back to Montross, where Mrs. Sweet
continued to work until May 1998, at which time she went to work in Richmond County. Mrs. Sweet returned to
Montross to work for Mr. Hutt in February of 2004 as a real estate assistant and in August of 2004 acquired her title
agent’s license. Her leisure time is spent gardening, doing yard work, reading for pleasure and taking short
trips with her husband.
